SIGNATURE HEADSHOT :)

A headshot is vital in the acting industry - it is a visual representation of you.

Without one the people in the business can't have a point of reference to cast you in a certain role. 

They need a headshot to even consider you for an audition. 

Unless you are one of the lucky few who are pulled in randomly :)

There are different types you can get, colour and black and white etc., but a headshot is crucial.

The headshot has to be a true image of yourself - if you get someone to photoshop the picture sooooo much and the image is not a true likeness to you when you turn up for the audition, they may ask themselves who you are and where the person in the picture is :(

So you need a photograph that best represents you. 

Make sure you try not to deviate too much from your headshot when you get it, e.g. hair length etc. 

Below I have posted different headshots to show you how simple things can alter your look. 

Those little things can change the casting director's mind on whether or not to cast you in a specific role - they will be looking for a certain criteria for their casting breakdown.


The shots below are old now and I have up to date ones but these are good examples for you.

Here I have longer hair and stubble

Here my hair is medium length and stubble/clean shaven

Here my hair is medium length and I have more facial hair

On this I brushed my hair back and was clean shaven



So headshots are a reference point for the industry people to pick your face out from the rest. 

The standard is 10*8
