ACTING METHOD

As time goes by there seems to be mention of multiple methods on how you should act, or techniques that are on offer to help you build your craft.

So which one do you choose???

Hmmm it is quite daunting when you first consider an acting career as to which path you should choose.

Well the best thing you can do is to do some research and become knowledgeable on these methods and have the ideas and concepts in mind when approaching a role.

Ultimately you are unique and I will always stress this, what works for some wont always work for others.

Not to say you shouldn't go to workshops or experience different ways of doing, you should experience all that you can.

The more you experience the more you will begin to formulate your own personal system.

Knowledge is the key :)

I use multiple methods in my work and stay unique to myself and so should you.

Teachers are there to teach, you are there to learn and practice your own techniques to create new and exciting characters/beings.

Whatever you choose to do make sure you are open to anything and absorb information like a sponge as this will always be there in you and you will use it to your own unique potential.

Playing the bad guy - fun fun fun

Don't think that there is only one way to create, because there are many many ways you can develop a character sooooo many you will be amazed.

I'm sure if you have done your research you will have heard of specific practitioners and current actors that utilize their methods in their own way.

We all interpret things differently and feel a certain way about them too.

What I want to say is don't be afraid think outside the box, be free to experiment and most of all take pleasure in it, this is the key :)

As humans we are all feeling beings we live to feel.


Every second of every day we feel something.

Whether this be physically mentally and so on we all have the power to feel.

As actors it is our job to utilize these powers to create the characters we are to portray :)

At the same time we must energize every character, by this I don't mean to beam them onto the enterprise :) I mean to put the right energy into our creations.

We have different feelings and energy levels that come with those feelings.

That said when the two are combined there are a world of possibilities open to you.

You will interpret what I have said in your own way - make your own ideas thoughts and feelings and use them to their full!
